Amnesty International’s Human Rights Education Team is seeking an International Human Rights Education Advocacy Assistant to join our team. This is a one-year fixed term contract post based at the International Secretariat in London, UK.
You will provide a high level of research, drafting and administrative support to the International Human Rights Education Advocacy project, ensuring that the objectives of the project are met. This includes research on the right to human rights education and keeping abreast of developments related to international human rights standards and United Nations mechanisms with the aim of promoting and mainstreaming human rights education. This also includes keeping abreast of developments on the World Programme for Human Rights Education, the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training, research on the United Nations bodies and procedures promoting human rights education, including the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the delivery of specific outputs related to the objectives of the project.
Requirements
You will possess excellent research and drafting skills, with high attention to detail. You will have working knowledge of United Nations mechanisms and systems, including treaty bodies, universal periodic review, special procedures. You have knowledge of and interest in human rights education. You will also have experience of scheduling and planning and an ability to apply a systematic approach to organizing and prioritizing a broad range of tasks. You will also have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, as well as have experience communicating with people of different countries. In addition, you will be able to work well within a team, attending to administrative tasks and coordinating and supporting volunteers as necessary.

Please note that any salary figure given is the gross figure, earnings will be subject to relevant local taxation.
